This cross is call the mothers cross. Hitler made it to encourage mother to make their family larger. Also to stop abortions, he didn't want any mentally challenged kids in his youth organization. In 1938 was when he first started giving them out to German mothers with large families. It is significant because it shows how Hitler wanted more German soldiers to help kill the Jewish people and to carry out all his durty work for him.
