Bomb Where??

We  don't have a lot of time so we can't break the prisoners mentally. We would have to go to physical torture. Their is a wide variety of different methods we could follow like bone breaking, beating,  pressure points, water boarding , and much more. Some of these tortures are not always help full. They could make the detainee more resistance and then we don't get information. We would torture them still they confess. The long term repercussion if the prisiners are mistreared would be getting yelled at by our supervisor and having a big problem with the government of the prisoners country.

Tell us or NO ??

I believe that all United States citizens have the right to know about the governments issues. Some are just not capable of understading what horrible things the military or government does, so they do some idiotic stuff that hurts everyone around them. We all know that the government keeps alot of things from it's citizens but somethings should be kept a secret cause not everyone could handle the truth. Their not very smart people so they go psyco. Their are some secrets that should be kept secrets for a reason good or bad.  Julian Assange has a good point leading us know about the governments business. But what he doesn't know is how well will handle the truth speacialy when it come to the military because we all believe that they are in Iraq and Afghanistan doing good deads not killing civilians that might look like they have weapons. Even though it's understandable cause they are very cautious at all times. So that means they over think everything to be safe and come home. I don't understand why he wants to exposed our government when he's not even American but Australian. The CIA has not been nearly hurt as other agencies have on keeping their secrets.

ALLOWED WAR GAMES

 CALL OF DUTY    REAL SOLDIER

In my opinion I think that video games such as call of duty should be allowed. They show alot of violence for little kids to play. But the violence they show is just like what happens in Afghanistan and Iraq. They might diminished the violence but not that much only by a little. All games should be allowed to show anything that has or happening in the world. Specially call of duty because it potray the was and all Americans or what ever you are should be allowed to see what actually happens when are soldier are deploded. When you play call of duty or Command and Conquer you should be able to feel the inpatients of the soldiers and how horrified they might feel when they don't know whats goin to happen next. The difference about real live and video games that resemble  is that real soldier don't often get to press the reset button and start from were they were harmed. Some just died with out getting the chance to live again. Call of duty show how war world 2 was like and even the cold war. My friend have said that this game so good and intresting to play is like if you were a soldier in the war.

UP THINKING

When the pilots in war world 1first used air-to-air combat it must have been scary. The soldier had alot on their mind in tose moments. They where thinking about their families, their own lives, and if they will crash down and leave this world without saying goodbye. All the ones that had family at the might of been thinking that they might never see their kids grow and never see their wifes again. The ones that didn't have family might of been thinking why don't they have kids or someone special waiting for them. What they all had on their minds was I'm might die in this momennt, in this way.

WAR WORLD 1 CASUALTIES

I think that in war world 1 most of the casualties were do to bombs. In the  video they showed explosion and some bodies were flying. Bombs are really powerfull even in 1914. They were worser back then cause they didn't kill you fast only if you were lucky enough. If weren't lucky you'll be in alot of pain and the medical people wouldn't be able to help you with your pain they'll make it worse trying to help you live. The death of all 16 million people who died fighting impacted the world. Because it was the first major war with so many casualties. Also because it was probably a cities population at that time. The 21 million that where injured needed alot of medical attention and more importanly surgeries and pain killers. They might of not have the resources for the pain killer that you needed. Maybe they didn't know how  to do the surgeries on patiens. That would of added more death to the 16 million.

Imperalism in Avatar

Imperialism is used in Avatar the movie. It is being used cause the Army want's the Na'Vi's biggest tree in their land. The big tree is really special to the Na'Vi  people. The Amry wants it cause under the tree their is a special rock that the human really want. They ask the Na'Vi's if they could destroy the tree so they could retreve the special rock. They said NO!! So the soldiers go throw so much to make avatars that look exactly like the Na'Vi people. So they can get close to them and see how they act.It might seem like a good motive to learn about their culture, etc. But they are just using them to gain control of them and be able to get the rock. The Army losses to the Na'Vi's, so they never get the rock they wanted. But it doesn't mean it's all over. The United States doesn't give up.

Close SOA?? YES!!

In my opinion I think they should close it cause they are training them to kill people. Even if people think that they are training them to be assasines they might be but no one knows. The SOA graduates don't follow human rights. They violate their rights to everyone no matter  what.  They have reports that high numbers of killings after receiving U.S military assistance was aproved and even before the help was approved. And plus its all connected to SOA.

Danger at work

My name is Lorenzo D'Mico and this is my story about the dangers we all faced building the Panamal Canal. In my experience my fellow colleges got the yellow fever, malaria, dysentery, typhoid, dengue. Not mentioning the adaption to the tropical heat. Frensh workers were being crushed under land and mud slides, and some even suffocating from noxious gases. I almost died of noxious gas but my brother came and saved me. I was so scared and derified I would die and never see my family again. Just last week 40 men died when they got crushed under a tone of mud. If been here for almost 3 years and I can't get used to seeing so many lives taken by this canal.

Was it Worth It

I disagree with the blogging system because I feel that it takes up homework time and other time from other things. Even though its due at the end of the week at 11:59 i feel its not really fair to us.  In my opinion I don't like blogging at all thats like for people who like to write newspaper artiles, bloggs, or for magazines. Or in that sort of career that has to be with newspaper etc.

Blogging or Paper ????

In my opinion paper or blogging is the same thing to me. Either of them help with our learning. You wouldn't agree if you like scribeling around on paper. Also if starring at a computer for along time give you a headace or blurs your vision at times.

Fav... Topic

My favorite topic of the whole first quater was the six word story. This was my favorite topic because in only six word you told a story that made sense if you really ponder about.

Turn Of the Century

The emotions the immigrants must have been feeling when the century turned must have been horable. They came here for a better live and got not so good jobs and bad living styles. When the turn of the century came it changed everything that immigrants were already used too. They had to proof the spoke english to get a green card and all those stuff.

Rough Times

The lives of a imigrant. When imigrants came from Russia, Italy, France, etc. They came expecting good jobs and housing conditions but they didn't get any of that. When they came through Ellis Island they were looking around thinking is the best place in the world. But when they walk further they saw trashy streets and bad housing buildings. The apartments were as big as you could afford for example you got pay liltle money you had a small apartment. The apartment had big families they all had to live in  small spaces. They had no bathroom or showers even. At the factories they would work their buts off just to put foodon the table. Work hard and gain little money at times. People rarely tooks showers or even brushed their teeth plus the streets were smelly alreadt cause they had  no pluming. So you could imagine the nasty smell they had on them and in their sorrounding. !Not happy time!

Struggles and realities of the job...Cowboy

A day of being a cowboy, is really a hastle. There are so many varied jobs to pick from for example the range boss, he wrangler, the bronco buster, line rider to the cook also the cutting horse. The range boss in the morning comes and tells the rangers what to do that day. The cook who obviously cooks for the workers and the owners of the range.

Gaming helping with learning??

In my opinion games do help with learning. For example cooking mama shows you how to cook even if it's virtual. Brain age gives puzzle, math questions, science or history questions that help your learning. If at school we used games for learning we wouldn't ask so many questions. I think that insead of getting homework we used games to help with our learning it would be much better and we use technology 24/7.

Treatments of African-Americans

During the reconstruction African Americans were freed by Emancipation Proclamation in 1863. The Thirteenth Amendment emancipated all U.S. slaves wherever they were. After the emancipation proclamation, two more years of war happened, by african americans troops. The defeat of the confederacy the nation was still not prepared for the full citizenship of african americans.

After the african americans were freed in the 1800 they made a document that provided the freed slaves to get a piece of land. They didnt just get a piece of land they had to pay interest to the white land  owner, plus the tools were borrowed and they had to pay for that too. The crops they grew 50% of them had to go to the white land owner, another 25% was to be sold and the other 25% was for them to eat.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was one of the main figures in the Civil Rights Movement. He was born in 1929 and eventually led and influenced millions through his espousal of non-violent protest against segregation and racial discrimination. King was assassinated in 1968.
What was of Martin Luther, Malcome X and Rosa Parks influence the Civil Rights Movement. All three of them did somethign diffrent and influential. Martin protest, spoke out in confrences. Malcome X an African-American Muslim minister, public speaker, and human rights activist. To his admirers, he was a courageous advocate for the rights of African Americans, a man who indicted white America in the harshest terms for its crimes against black Americans. His detractors accused him of preaching racism, black supremacy, antisemitism, and violence. He has been described as one of the greatest, and most influential, African Americans in history.  During the civil right movement whites had their own schools, bathrooms, dinners, ect. Blacks had their own school that were lower than white school, own bathrooms, dinners, etc. These three people influece alot of the good things we have now.

Resconstruction Comes

The reconstruction brought sharecropping for slaves. Sharecropping is when former slaves get land to crop, they have to pay interest to the white land owner. In my believe  the recoconstruction help the former slaves because they got a piece of land and had to pay interest to the owner. They could not plant crops in  their own land. They were better off after the reconstruction than before the civil war. Because they got a piece of land and they aren't slaves any more.

Unnecessary Deaths in the Civil War

I choosed this picture because it shocks me to see how many people died in the war. Alot of men died unnecessary deaths for not being prepared to fight for a good cause. Lots of families ripped apart for missing a family members in the war. The viewers should take away all the dead bodies from the photo.

Does moral help win a war???

In my opinion Lt. Col. Chamberlain is right about having a moral to win a war. To win a war you must have a good plan plus a very good rason to win a war. I believe that with out a good purpose for winning you are going to loose.

Stereotypes in Society

In our Society their are alot of stereotypes on anything for example another group or culture.Their are alot of diffrent cultures, group, and religions in the United States. An example of a stereotype in everyday life is when someone you dislike or even hate does something to you that you don't like. Maybe they are hispanic and you come and say "every hispanic is the same way " when really it could just be that one dipical person. So many stereotypes are inaccurate and are used as a method of scapegoating or to seperate their behavior from yours or anybody elses behavior. When we're stereotyping we also get caught up in the issue of that's what "they do", that's how "those people" are instead of being in touch with our actual feelings of hurt, confusion, feeling left out or any other type of feeling.

No History Left Behind

The people that write our history should not leave anything behind just because it bad or it didn't go the way it was planed. History is always important in any bodies live. Telling lies or holding history back just because is unberable is not fair. Like people say "lies always come out sonner or later" eventully history lies will come out but it doesn't  shock many people anymore. I don't uderstand why keep history from us when we have the write to know about our past and present history.

The Matters of our History

History matter in diffrented ways. One of them is it improves our understading of who we are. History makes more sense of the present by placing it in context of the past that impact our daily lives. The past strengtents community's and regional identity and makes them better or worse. History gives more ideas to fix our current economy and our society to make it better for people to live in. Also  we could always learn from our past decision from history.
